DRAMA
Drama allows young people to develop their confidence, self-esteem, communication ability, and presentation skills, as well as individual style and technique for use in a theatre context. Pupils will cultivate skills in many different aspects of drama, including:
- Improvisation
- Vocal dynamics
- Body language and mannerisms
- Characterisation and stagecraft
- Audition techniques
MUSICAL THEATRE
Musical Theatre helps pupils to develop their singing voices whilst learning and performing songs from both famous and more obscure musicals. Pupils will investigate diverse themes explored in the song and stagecraft of different musicals, gaining a better understanding of the power of this art form, whilst developing their skills such as:
- Vocal strengthening
- Chorus work
- Harmonies and solos
- Theatre dance
CHEER LEADING
Cheer is a high intensity sport that combines elements of dance and gymnastics. Children will learn dancing, jumping, tumbling and stunting skills whilst building confidence in other skills such as:
- Physical endurance
- Strength training
- Flexibility
- Coordination
- Team work
- Leadership skills
COMMERCIAL DANCE
Commercial Dance incorporates a range of disciplines – ballet, modern, contemporary, hip hop and theatre jazz – to create innovative choreography set to popular music. It helps to improve:
- Posture
- Stamina
- Agility
- Flexibility
- Core strength
- Musicality
